Admissions

How to Apply

To apply, along with an application fee of $60.聽

Applicants must have completed their bachelor鈥檚 degree. A degree in a related field is preferred; however, all applications will be considered.

Candidates will be asked to submit the following along with their application.聽

Supporting Materials

Transcripts

Submit official transcripts from every college and university you have attended. Applicants are expected to have majored or minored in history at the undergraduate level or to have received an MA in history. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Letters of Recommendation

Submit three letters of recommendation from faculty and professionals.

Letters of recommendation are preferred from college/university professors who have taught or worked with the applicant in her/his major or minor area of concentration.

Statement of Goals

Your statement should be about 500 to 750 words in length. Include your specific interest in 51动漫鈥檚 program, your research and future career goals, your major historical interests, and your previous academic and research achievements.

Standardized Test Scores

The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) general test is optional. Scores may be submitted if available.

A current professional r茅sum茅 is required.

Writing Sample

Submit a writing sample that demonstrates your ability to conduct research and write a scholarly paper relevant to the discipline. It should be fully referenced according to a professional, scholarly style manual and should not exceed 30 pages in length.

Additional Requirements for International Applicants

Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master鈥檚 degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet the following minimum scores.

  • TOEFL iBT: 79
  • IELTS Academic: 6.5
  • PTE Academic: 53
